Kickstart Motorcycle Training run CBT, A2, and DAS courses in Clevedon

Kickstart in Clevedon

Welcome to Kickstart Motorcycle Training  in Clevedon. We run  CBT ( Compulsory Basic Training ), A2 ( Restricted License ) and DAS ( Direct Access Scheme ) motorcycle, moped and scooter training courses.

The training center is easily reached from anywhere in north Somerset including Weston super Mare, west Bristol, Nailsea and Portishead and gives you the chance to learn to ride away from busy city traffic. If you live on the east side of Bristol then our Keynsham center may be nearer.

Our Clevedon center has a Module One Training Area on site. You can also split your course between the Clevedon and Keynsham centers if you want, giving you easy access to Bristol test center. Clevedon Facilities

Established in 1997 we  offer a friendly and professional service and are more than happy to talk about which motorcycle or moped training course would be best for you, with no pressure and without the dreaded sales script, just give us a call on 01179 866200.

All of our Instructors are Driving Standards Agency approved, and most have additional qualifications. Click on the About Us Button to see who we are.

We also have an increasingly popular club organizing runs and events, and occasional special offers, click here to go to our  Face Book Page to see what is going on. Anyone who has a connection to Kickstart is welcome to join.

Direct Access Scheme

This is the course to take if you want to ride an unrestricted motorcycle, (  you will need to be 21 or over ).

This course is a lot of fun and in our opinion is the ideal way to get into motorcycling. You will start off on a 125 cc motorcycle and progress onto the larger bikes when sensible. Starting on a 125cc means you won’t feel intimidated by the weight and power of a 500cc motorcycle and we can teach you all the basics easily. Once on a larger bike you will soon get used to the extra weight and power of a “proper” motorcycle and we can build up your skills and confidence levels. So you will  easily pass the Module One and Two tests.

Compulsory Basic Training

Need cheap transport ? happy to ride a 50 or 125 on L plates ? or want to gain experience on two wheels before taking the motorcycle test then you will need a Compulsory Basic Training course.

Training is the important bit, it is not a test, I mention this because some people come in really stressed thinking I must get this right first time  or I won't pass. It's really not like that at all, it is a fun day learning new skills, but you will have a head start if you have read the Highway Code !

You can take a CBT at either of our centres, Keynsham or Clevedon.

Restricted (A2) Licence

Sick of paying £1.20  £1.44 a litre for fuel ?, we can't help you with that but we can help you make it go a lot further, invest some money in taking an A2 restricted licence. This is the cheapest way to gain a full bike licence, you will have a 33bhp restriction for two years, but 33bhp is plenty for running around town and commuting to and from work for distances up to 20 miles each way. You will also need to take this route if you are under 21 years old.

Step 1 complete a CBT.

Step 2 pass the Theory and Hazard Perception Test.

Step 3 take the  Intermediate, and Level 1 and Level 2 courses with Kickstart to pass the motorcycle test.
